Something Old, Something New...
- This album contains six new songs, written mostly by the "Fox Boys", songs resulting from my lifetime of memories, some joyful and uplifting, but also resulting from a lot of pain and regret. But thankfully those memories have long ago been healed and have over time evolved into feelings of immense gratitude and praise to God for bringing me through. And along with that gratitude a determination by God's grace to make the last half of the journey better than the first! One of my favourite passages from the Bible is Isaiah 57:15-19, words that apply to this "spiritual child of Abraham", words that declare the infinite patience, mercy and grace of God, truly "the God of the second chance" (and the third, and the fourth; you get the picture!): "I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him." This, God has graciously done for me, and He will do it for you!
- I have also included six old classic songs written by some of the greatest legends of the gospel music world, songs originally recorded by me over 20 years ago and released along with four others in a cassette album called "In God's Time". Through the wonders of 21st century technology these tunes have been digitally re-mastered and included in this new project. I'm afraid I don't remember the names of the instrumentalists and background singers, but I do thank them for the wonderful work they did. And I trust these songs will bless you as they have me over the years.
- I am forever indebted to my son Kevin for not only making this album financially possible but also for overseeing the entire production, arranging five of the songs and writing the music for four of them. He is and always has been one of God's most gracious gifts to me. I love you Kev! My thanks as well to Kevin's immensely talented colleagues and friends who have lent their genius to the production: our wonderful engineer Art Mullin and Riverwalk Audio; Dylan Bell, Suba Sankaran, Amy Mullin, Janice Beurling, Suzy Oyagi and Carmen Barry for lending their many talents, voices, and friendship; and John Coulter, who started out as a business acquaintance but became over the years an encourager and a true friend. But first and foremost, my thanks to Father God for bringing it all together after He finally had me all put back together!
- And thank you so much for purchasing Something Old, Something New. You will hear everything from classic Southern Gospel to Country, a cappella, and even a little Jazz! I hope as you listen you will be blessed, comforted, inspired, and entertained as well!
Your brother,
Bryan
